The concept is simple.
Plant more veggies in public spaces. These are sources of food for the needy, they lavish polinators, decorate bland city areas, create mini-jobs, supply compost and teach our little ones a few valuable lessons about nature and sustainability – things I believe we can quite easily omit in a hasty lifestyle.

I came across two of these geniously simple boxes on a market plain we frequently pass by on the way to our favourite Saturday breakfast spot. They are flóúrishing!! Zucchini, ‘Cohlrabi’, Spinach, Beetroot – bees were buzzing about, some additionally creative being decorated the boxes with colourful paint – there’s life, right there, craftsmanship, future-thinking, teamwork, creativity, nature – genius, where, only a few weeks ago there was nothing but a normal paved walkway.

I’m not sure who ‘planted’ these boxes but this person sure has a vision which I admire.
When will we start contributing to our city’s wealth and future in practical ways like these?
Perhaps the time is now.
