Blushing Cherry Tree,

How much beauty can there be?!

Blue skies – sun in my eyes, blossom beautiful tree, you are the most beautiful there will ever be!!

Snow, ice and a chilly breeze was our forté last week…sometimes it seems like Winter never (bloody) ends in Germany. Added to the chill eating your ankles and your ears was the fact that our magnificent Magnolia had to bid her glorious blossoms farewell…they were truly beautiful…the ones who had the opportunity to reach bloomin adulthood –

Now, standing there, seemingly sad, basically bare, holding on to what is left of the shriveled, brown blossoms and hoping for better luck with her leaves atleast this year. My hope sank with hers. Perhaps we’ll have better luck next year…

Blushing Cherry Trees, pitstop for eager bees, hope for sunshine ahead and wintertime gone to bed.

The smarter Cherries & Zwetschkes who gave the chill a dodge, opened up in full glory on Easter Friday, blushing in shades of pink and pearl for all to admire…my Magnolia’s biggest desire. In a way this reminds me of the Tortoise and the Hare – confidence is key, but determination wins the race. Próst to a new season…my wish is that the Cherries blossom just as gloriously wherever a Ukrainian mom finds herself in Europe this year and that the copper leaves back home in South Africa casts rest and peace over our beautiful homeland.

Happy Easter from a sunny, blushing Baden-Württemberg 🌸
